1964 European Grand Prix

The Ranta Collection of automobilia includes the program for the 1964 European Grand Prix from Brands Hatch and a really cool promo book from Castrol. The program lists entries for the Grand Prix and support races, including Touring cars, Grand Touring cars and Sports Cars which are what we would call sports racers. There are cars from Cooper, Lotus, Repco, Crossle, Merlyn, Elva, Ferrari, Jaguar, A/C cobra, MG, Porsche and more.
The Castrol book includes a great history of Grand Prix, with lots of photos & a few cutaways, like the 1963 Cooper F1 shown above.

That booklet is very cool.

Reminds me of my all-time favorite racing game - Grand Prix Legends.

i've never seen that game. i'm having a new interest in F1 lately, as i've been reading a cool book that i'll review soon called Formula 1 Fanatic & i also read Brock Yates biography of Enzo.

How was the Yates book?

I have it, but haven't read it yet.

Have you read Cannonball (by Yates)?

Grand Prix Legends was a racing simulation of the 1967 Gran Prix season. Very cool.

i hated the first chapter or so, as it took a distinctly smart alec (typical yates) american (anti everyone else) point of view. to the point that i almost put the book down. i'm glad i kept reading, because the history is just incredible!

one of the defining books for me as a car guy & as a racer was "sunday driver" by yates, so when cannonball came out i jumped at it. i enjoyed it, but it didn't have the same effect as sunday driver did (maybe because i'm not 15 any more!)
